Finnish Arctic delegation visited the Storting

The 5 May 2014 the Arctic delegation in the Finnish parliament visited the Norwegian parliament. The host of the visit was the Arctic delegation in the Storting.

As neighbouring countries Finland and Norway have a long history of close cross-border contact and good neighbourly relations. With more activities and opportunities in the Arctic, together with growing political awareness and importance, there is a need to improve the cooperation in the North.

The Arctic delegation in the Finnish parliament visited the Norwegian parliament.

In the joint meeting the members of the two delegations discussed closer cooperation in the areas of transport and logistics, exchange of labor and finally exchange of students and researchers.

The meeting asked the governments to continue their efforts to reinforce Arctic cooperation between Finland and Norway on the basis of a joint action plan.
