Heightened infection control measures in the week starting 25th January
The Storting is stepping up its infection control measures due to an increased risk of infection in the Oslo region.
The week starting 25th January is a sitting-free week in the Storting. This means that there is no timetabled activity in the Chamber. However, the hearing that was planned for Tuesday 26th January has now been postponed.
All MPs, parliamentary party staff and administrative staff have been recommended to work from home as far as this is feasible. A skeleton staff only will be in the building during the week. Digital workplace solutions will be more important than ever.
“Since week 4 is a sitting-free week, the measures we are taking will be less intrusive than would have been the case during a week of full activity in the Chamber. We are doing what we can to protect people’s lives and health, and to ensure that key parliamentary business can continue. We are monitoring the situation very closely, and are assessing necessary measures on an ongoing basis,” said Tone W. Trøen, President of the Storting.
