Finland’s President visits the Storting
President of the Storting Masud Gharahkhani welcomed Finland’s President, Alexander Stubb, to the Storting on Tuesday 15th October. President Stubb also met members of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence.
“It was a great honour to welcome the new President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, to the Storting. Finland is one of our closest and most important partners. As well as sharing common interests and fundamental values, we have recently become joint allies in NATO,” said Mr Gharahkhani.
After his meeting with the President of the Storting, President Stubb met members of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee.
President Stubb’s state visit to Norway from 15th to 17th October comes at the invitation of Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja. A call on the Storting traditionally forms part of the itinerary during such a state visit.
