Revised guidelines for the allocation of MPs’ commuter flats
The Storting’s Presidium has adopted a set of revised guidelines for the allocation of commuter accommodation to MPs.
The revision does not involve any changes to the substance of the guidelines. Rather, the aim is to clarify the scheme as it applies and is administered today.
The revised guidelines make it clear that MPs who have been allocated a commuter flat may not make use of other owned or rented accommodation within a 40-kilometre drive of the Storting.
There are also updates to the duty of disclosure that MPs are obliged to register annually. A section has been included on the obligations of the individual in tax-related matters.
