Lifting of COVID measures in the Storting
On Tuesday 12th February, the Government removed all COVID-related infection control measures in Norway. This included the rules relating to social distancing, the use of face masks, and the requirement to self-isolate in the event of illness.
The Storting’s Presidium followed up on Monday 14th February with a corresponding easing of the measures in Parliament. The following now applies:
- The recommended one-metre social distancing rule has been lifted.
- The requirement to wear a face mask when it is not possible to stay one metre or more apart has been removed.
- The main entrance at Løvebakken is now open to visitors.
- The duty to register visitors to the Storting’s public gallery has been removed.
- The duty to register visitors' telephone numbers has been removed.
- The plexiglass barriers will remain in place.
General advice to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases in line with national recommendations still applies.
- Good hand hygiene and cough etiquette is still important
- Self-test if you have COVID-19 symptoms
- Stay at home if you have new respiratory symptoms and feel ill
- In the event of a positive COVID test, stay at home for four days from the time you first detected the symptoms or, if you do not have symptoms, from the day you tested positive.
Those who want to may still wear face masks.
