Heightened COVID-19 measures in place

Here is a summary of the most recent infection control measures implemented in the Storting.

On Monday 6th December 2021, the Storting’s Presidium made the following decisions:

  • The first row of the public gallery to be closed. Visitors in the second row must wear face masks throughout their time in the Storting.
  • Members of the public who would like to attend this year’s remaining committee hearings, those of 10th and 20th December, must do so digitally. However, consultation bodies will still be able to attend the hearings in person.

On Thursday 2nd December 2021, the Storting’s Presidium made the following decisions:

  • All organized events in the Storting to be cancelled from Monday 6th December until Christmas.
  • Guided tours of the Storting and class visits to be cancelled from 3rd
  • As of 6th December, only MPs and members of staff in the parliamentary party groups will be allowed to receive visitors to the Storting (maximum 5 visitors a day per person).
  • The wearing of face masks inside the Storting buildings is compulsory unless one-metre social distancing can be maintained.
  • Temporary plexiglass barriers between MPs’ seats to be reinstalled in the Storting Chamber from the 7th December sitting onwards.
  • Further measures to be considered on an ongoing basis.
