Sittings in the Storting to start a week later than planned
The Storting’s Presidium has made the decision to postpone the start of sittings after Christmas by one week. The first sitting of 2021 will now be held on Monday 18th January.
Initially, the plan was to convene the Storting on Monday 11th January, with sittings also timetabled for Tuesday and Wednesday of the same week.
“With the infection situation in mind, the Presidium has decided to postpone the start of sittings by a week. The consequence of this will be that matters that were originally on the order of business in the second week of the year will now be dealt with in later sittings,” said Tone Wilhelmsen Trøen, President of the Storting.
This decision will not affect the other political business that takes place in the Storting. Most committee work is being conducted digitally, while hearings are taking place in writing or online.
