The committee, led by Anniken Huitfeldt, is visiting Moscow for talks with the chair of the Federation Council’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Konstantin Kosachev.

Kosovich and a delegation visited Oslo in June 2016 and met with the Storting’s Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence. The trip to Moscow is a return visit and a continuation of parliamentary dialogue. Meetings with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Grushko and representatives of Russian civil society are also being arranged.

The discussions will centre on bilateral issues, including cooperation in the High North, and topical international issues such as developments in Ukraine and the Middle East, security policy and democracy development.
