The jubilee book’s author, the architect Peter Butenschøn, has written a series of successful books about architecture. As well as taking the reader on a journey through the Storting building, Butenschøn also gives us a guided tour from the inside.

The story of the building takes us all over this historic structure, from the radiance of the Storting Chamber to its offices, canteens, workshops and hidden nooks and crannies. Along the way the author brings to life the diversity of Norway’s most important building – and gives the reader a glimpse into the Storting building’s volatile past, from the growth of a modern political system via war, occupation and reconstruction to today’s versatile and extensive parliament building. The book is full of illustrations, both new images by the architectural photographer Ivan Brodey and a substantial collection of historical photographs.

The original title of the book is Stortinget. Huset på Løvebakken gjennom 150 år.
