Serbia’s Prime Minister meets the President of the Storting
The Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, visited the Storting on Wednesday 17th June.
Prime Minister Vučić is currently in Oslo in connection with the Oslo Forum conflict mediation conference, which has been taking place over the past two days.
Mr Vučić came to the Storting on Wednesday afternoon to meet Olemic Thommessen, the President of the Storting.
Among the items on the agenda was the importance of transparency and trust in democratic institutions and processes. With Serbia currently holding the OSCE Chairmanship, and with several OSCE member nations exhibiting an increasing disrespect for democracy and human rights, it was natural to discuss such issues. Another topic for discussion was Serbia’s ambitions for closer integration with European institutions, in particular the EU.
Aleksander Vučić has been the Prime Minister of Serbia since the parliamentary election in April 2014.
