Meeting of the European Consultative Committee on 10th June
The Minister of EEA and EU Affairs will inform about EU/EEA questions of current interest and EU legislation that is due to be considered at the EEA Committee meeting of 11th June.
Vidar Helgesen, Minister of EEA and EU Affairs; Tord Lien, Minister of Petroleum and Energy; and Tine Sundtoft, Minister of Climate and Environment will be representing the Government. The members of the Standing Committee on Energy and the Environment have been summoned to the meeting and the members of the Business and Industry Committee have also been invited to take part.
The Minister of EEA and EU Affairs will inform about EU/EEA questions of current interest and EU legislation that is due to be considered at the EEA Committee meeting of 11th June.
Other items on the agenda will include the EU’s Energy Union and its implications for Norway; European energy supply security; the EU’s Third Energy Package; the current climate negotiations; Norway’s role in the fulfilment of the EU’s 2030 climate goals; emissions trading; and the green shift (climate and environmentally friendly restructuring).
European Consultative Committee meetings are held behind closed doors unless otherwise decided. Minutes from such meetings are published once the meetings are over with the exception of the parts that have been exempted from public disclosure. The complete minutes of meetings are published one year after they have taken place.
