The Storting Chamber

Guided tours of the Storting on Friday 10th April between 1500 and 1800 hrs

The guided tours will include an exhibition on the German occupation of Norway and one about the Court of Impeachment.

The guided tours will include the Storting Chamber, the Historical Hall, the Central Hall, the Eidsvoll Gallery and the Staircase Hall.

The 75th anniversary of 9th April 1940 is being commemorated by an exhibition called Da diktaturet fortrengte demokratiet (“When Dictatorship supplanted democracy”). Among the documents on display will be the Elverum Authorization. This document, adopted unanimously by the Storting on 9th April 1940, gave the Norwegian Government absolute authority over the running of the country during the period that the Storting was unable to convene in Oslo due to the German occupation.

In the Historical Hall visitors will be given the opportunity to view the exhibition Riksretten – en politisk domstol i 200 år (“The Court of Impeachment – a political tribunal for 200 years”)

• Guided tours to start at regular intervals
• Maximum number per group: 20
• Tours to last approximately 30 minutes
• Entry free of charge
• All visitors must pass through a security scanner on entering the building
